Gian Piero Gasperini goes to Udinese without fully fit options, and both outlets report that Donyell Malen is set to start up front. Repubblica – Roma says Rodrigo Mora will play alongside Matías Soulé, who is positioned behind the centre-forward. GialloRossi.net describes Soulé as the untouchable partner of Malen, with Mora only a possible starter after his decisive goal against Cagliari. The outlets also differ on Soulé's condition: Repubblica warns his recovery time risks stretching out, while GialloRossi credits him with 3 goals and 3 assists this season.
GialloRossi.net expects a reshuffled side for the 18:00 kick-off on 31 October, with changes mainly in defence and midfield. Mancini and N'Dicka may be rested, Ghilardi and Balerdi are candidates to start, and Balerdi and Hermoso have recovered from the knocks that put Balerdi on the bench against Cagliari. Cristante and Pisilli are gaining ground in midfield, with De Roon initially on the bench. These are pre-match indications only, and several places remain open.
Both outlets agree Paulo Dybala's return is uncertain, though GialloRossi.net is more definite. It reports he will miss Udine and is seriously doubtful for Manchester United, with a return against Sassuolo on 7 November more likely; Repubblica only says his return from the international break remains a question mark. Gollini will again be in goal, as Svilar's return has been postponed until after the break, and Koné has resumed individual work.
