Matías Soulé

Forward#18· Argentine

Matías Soulé was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 2003, and grew up idolising Lionel Messi and supporting Independiente. He moved to Europe as a teenager, joining Juventus's academy in 2020, and spent two years developing in the Bianconeri's reserve teams before a loan to Frosinone in 2023-24 made everyone sit up and pay attention: 11 goals, 102 dribbles completed — the most of any player in Serie A that season. Roma paid around €28 million to sign him permanently.

Soulé is a right-sided winger who is left-footed — a combination that creates constant problems for defenders. He cuts inside, shifts the ball onto his stronger foot, and either shoots with power or finds a teammate in space. His dribbling is his trademark: quick, low to the ground, and decisive. He has been compared to Ángel Di María for his skillset and playing approach.

Dual Argentine-Italian eligible, Soulé has committed to Argentina. He models his game on his idol Messi, which tells you both where his ambitions lie and the standard he holds himself to. At 22, he is still developing, and the best of him is yet to come.
