Roma Close to Signing Atlético Madrid Veteran Molina
Roma are advancing negotiations to sign Atlético Madrid wing-back Nahuel Molina after encountering obstacles in their pursuit of Givairo Read. Atlético have valued the Argentine at €15M plus €5M in bonuses, but Roma are successfully negotiating the fee down by €3–4M. The club had instead tabled €27M in what was likely their final bid for Feyenoord fullback Read, who rejected the advances. Molina, 28, previously played in Serie A for Udinese before joining Atlético in 2022. He has made 181 appearances, scored 9 goals, and provided 17 assists for Los Colchoneros, with his contract expiring in 2027. Bringing him back to Italy would allow Roma to redirect funds to other roles. The club continue to monitor other targets including RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa and Olympique Lyonnais winger Malick Fofana, who has recently recovered from a serious ankle injury. If a seasoned wing-back arrives, Roma plan to pursue a younger prospect on the opposite flank—Torino's Alessio Cacciamani, who impressed on loan at Juve Stabia last season. Torino prefer to retain Cacciamani and sell other players instead.
