Roma appoints John Galantic as chief executive to lead club into second century

Roma will not return to Rome after their Serie A trip to Udinese, with the club heading directly from Udine to Manchester for their Champions League clash with Manchester United, according to Angelo Mangiante on the Mana Mana Sport programme. The Udinese fixture is set for Saturday 31 October at 18:00, and Manchester United visit three days later, on 3 November, for the Champions League. The double away trip forces a change in the club's plans. Roma will train in Udine on the morning of Sunday, before flying from Trieste in the afternoon to reach Manchester. The schedule underlines the demanding run of fixtures Roma face as they juggle domestic and European commitments in the 2026-27 season. The match against Udinese is due to kick off at 18:00 on Saturday 31 October, and the Manchester United game follows on 3 November as part of the Champions League league phase. Roma's trip to Manchester therefore comes straight after the Serie A fixture, with no return to the capital in between.

Roma are monitoring Portuguese winger Carlos Forbs, currently at Club Brugge, as sporting director Tony D'Amico looks to add another wide option to the squad. According to the specialist portal TransferFeed, Roma sent scouts to San Siro to watch Brugge's match against Inter. The club are looking to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini's squad after a strong start to the season, with the aim of extending the rotations into the final part of the campaign. Forbs, born in 2002, is not the only club interested. Several Premier League sides are also tracking the player, including Tottenham and Manchester United. In August, Brugge reportedly valued Forbs at around €30 million, a figure that is not expected to differ greatly from their current asking price.

Roma defender Wesley is continuing his training even after the club's 4-2 home win over Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico on the evening of 27 October. Gasperini gave the squad a day off to prepare for the next fixture, but Wesley was back at work on 28 October. He shared a photo on social media showing him still training in the gym, captioned "il lavoro continua" ("the work continues") with two yellow and red hearts. Wesley came on as a substitute on Monday night, replacing Molin.
