Pietro Mezzaroma, Roma co-owner in 1993, dies at 91

Work has officially started at Pietralata, the area earmarked for Roma's future stadium, on an extraordinary clean-up operation carried out outside the regular TARI waste service. The aim is to clear large quantities of waste that had built up over time in the area and to restore decorum to a part of the district marked by serious urban decay. The removal of the abandoned material forms part of the wider regeneration plan for the neighbourhood, laying the groundwork for the next phases of construction of the club's new stadium. The intervention is intended to guarantee safety and cleanliness in the public spaces of Pietralata and to set the operational and environmental foundations for the imminent transformation of the whole zone. Caring for the territory is described as a key step on the path that will give Roma their new home. The extraordinary clean-up will continue in the coming days to complete the clearing of the various sections of the site, tackling illegal dumping of waste and returning a cleaned and safe environment to local residents ahead of future urban developments.
