Diego Perotti has reflected on his time at Roma in an interview with the club's 'A casa dei campioni' series, produced in collaboration with Idealista. The former Argentine striker discussed his decision to settle in Rome after arriving from Genoa, choosing the Axa neighbourhood for its proximity to the training ground and space for his growing family. "When I arrived at Roma, I came from Genoa, a smaller city where you could mainly find apartments, but we wanted a house with a garden. We already had our first child and were thinking of having a second, so it was essential to find a spacious home, especially considering we've always had a dog too," Perotti explained.
Perotti emphasised the bond he forged with Roma's supporters despite the club's lack of silverware during his tenure. "Rome is a complicated, particular place, but I believe the Roma fan knows when a player gives everything," he said. "Even in recent years when I suffered injuries, fans saw in me the desire, responsibility and love for the shirt. Even when things didn't go well, I always gave my maximum even when I wasn't at 100 per cent." He highlighted his Champions League semifinal appearance against Liverpool at Anfield Road and his final-whistle goal in Roma's match against Genoa—Francesco Totti's farewell fixture—as his most cherished memories in yellow and red.
Perotti also recalled his strong friendship with former teammate Federico Fazio, noting they had celebrated birthdays together for at least ten years, extending back to their time together at Sevilla.
