Mourinho reflects on Roma happiness in new Netflix documentary

AS Roma has formally initiated expropriation procedures for land required to build the club's new stadium at Pietralata. Formal notices were sent to five property owners on 16 July concerning a total of 821 square metres. The estimated compensation is approximately €976,000, calculated according to legal parameters. Property owners have 30 days to submit objections or contest the valuations, though any appeals will not halt the process. The expropriation procedure will become fully operational once the services conference concludes in mid-September and Roma deposits the compensation funds with the Ministry of Economy. This will allow the club to occupy the land even if legal disputes continue, clearing the way for construction works scheduled to begin in March 2027. The project has progressed through parallel technical discussions with the Italian Railways (Ferrovie) and the Heritage Superintendency.

Roma had targeted Endrick, the Brazilian forward at Real Madrid, as a potential signing this summer, with the club prepared to negotiate a loan deal with a purchase option. However, Real Madrid has decided to retain the 18-year-old attacker despite the overtures, ending recent talks with the Serie A side. According to The Athletic, Endrick's future could shift depending on his playing time; if the Brazilian fails to secure regular minutes, Real Madrid may reconsider a loan arrangement. The Spanish club deployed the same solution during the previous season, sending Endrick to Lyon in January on a temporary deal. Roma has been caught off guard by Real Madrid's decision to close the door, though a fresh attempt in the January transfer window is not ruled out. Significantly, Endrick has yet to fully commit to staying. The talent could request a move if he feels relegated to a secondary role within Carlo Ancelotti's squad. Real Madrid announced on August 10 that Endrick would remain at the club for the upcoming campaign, with interest also coming from Aston Villa.

José Mourinho has discussed his time managing Roma in a new Netflix docuseries titled The Special One, reflecting on a career that culminated in winning the UEFA Europa Conference League.
