This directive explains why Roma has frozen negotiations over Dan Ndoye and Noa Lang, both players proposed to the Giallorossi. Although both are valued footballers, the club has decided to shelve talks with them to preserve budget and concentrate all economic and diplomatic resources on priority targets. Gasperini's stance reflects a determination to raise the standard of Roma's attack by signing only players considered worthy of first-tier status, with no room for second-tier options.

AS Roma are actively pursuing two forward targets: Alejandro Garnacho and Diego Moreira. According to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho is available to leave Chelsea, though the Blues are demanding a permanent deal or guaranteed obligation rather than a loan. Roma have approached intermediaries to explore a loan with a purchase option, but Chelsea have rejected that structure. Garnacho has signalled his willingness to join Roma, with Romano stating: "Garnacho however has made it known that he has a real desire to say yes to Roma, it is more than an opening. He can play Champions League, the approval is total and now it depends on the clubs. But the Giallorossi are working on it." The separate pursuit of Moreira from Strasbourg represents a more complex negotiation. Roma have informed Strasbourg they are prepared to spend more than €35 million for the Brazilian, insisting on a permanent transfer rather than a loan. However, Strasbourg's asking price remains significantly higher, creating a substantial gap between the two clubs' valuations. Romano emphasised: "The word loan should be completely forgotten, so we are talking about a definitive deal. At the moment the French are starting from an even higher request, there is a very wide gap." Both operations are being pursued simultaneously and are not mutually exclusive at this stage.
