Falcao backs Gasperini's Roma to win the Serie A title

Radio commentators Simone Valdarchi and another analyst have assessed Roma's preparation for a congested fixture schedule and squad availability ahead of matches against Como, Real Madrid, and Genoa. Valdarchi expects Marten de Roon and Manu Koné to start in midfield at Como, with Niccolò Pisilli potentially partnering Koné against Real Madrid. Bryan Cristante is expected to return to the squad for the Genoa fixture. Valdarchi praised de Roon as a trusted figure under Gasperini and noted that Roma's defence ranks among the league's strongest, partly due to the midfield's contribution. He observed that matches every three days over a period will require tactical rotation in certain positions on the pitch. Valdarchi stated: "De Roon, if used in some matches, can be an excellent signing because he is a man of trust for Gasperini. Roma's defence is one of the strongest in the championship, also thanks to the midfield." He added that Roma will not suffer unduly from absences, observing that players have grasped Gasperini's system: "Except perhaps for one period in Turkey, Roma has shown it is always in the match, often playing very well." On de Roon's prospects, Valdarchi said: "I have the impression he will play many matches. He is a player of experience who also knows how to be a leader, someone Gasperini relied on heavily at Atalanta."

Luciano Spalletti has reflected on his time managing Roma in an interview with Tuttosport, drawing comparisons between the three cities where he has worked. "Turin is perfect — they let you live in peace," Spalletti said. "At Naples the fans' love takes your breath away, and for some it can become suffocating, but I breathed it all in completely. The same at Roma. I understand that way of living football, because I've been through it myself." Spalletti praised Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi in separate remarks. When asked which emerging managers he admires, Spalletti named De Rossi and mentioned observing Francesco Farioli at Porto. Luciano Spalletti has spoken again about Francesco Totti, recently naming him the best player he has managed in his career. Speaking to Tuttosport, Spalletti reflected on the Roma legend's exceptional technical gift: "Francesco was able to construct technical malice. He had the strength to transform plays into systems, and usually the opposite happens." Spalletti's remarks come as Totti remains a towering figure in Roma's recent history, having retired from the club in 2017 after a complete career spanning 1992–2017. The former coach's words underscore the singular nature of Totti's ability to elevate Roma's tactical approach through individual brilliance. Roma's radio stations have focused heavily on the upcoming Como fixture and squad selection as Gasperini's side prepares for a demanding period. Checco Oddo Casano argued that Devyne Rensch, bought for €5 million, could be sold in January for a profit to bring in a stronger left-back in the style of Moreira. "Rensch is a little player who can fit in Roma's squad, but he'll hardly become a new Gosens, a new Zappacosta or a new Wesley," Casano said. "You bought him at a good price and you can make a profit—maybe in January you can sell him and get a stronger player to improve in that area of the pitch." Matías Soulé, who has been with Argentina, is expected back at Trigoria only on Thursday, opening the door for either Lorenzo Pellegrini or Rodrigo Mora to start alongside Paulo Dybala and Donyell Malen in the attacking midfield role. Wesley Sneijder, who won the treble with Inter under Mourinho, has identified Roma as Serie A's main threat to the Nerazzurri this season. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Inter midfielder praised Roma's attacking threat under Gasperini. "La Roma with Gasperini is particularly aggressive and dangerous, especially with this Malen who always scores and attacks the depth at the right moment: few can do it like that," Sneijder said. He acknowledged that Como has also caught attention but stressed the established contenders cannot be overlooked: "Now Como has everyone's eyes on it and is very interesting. But the others—Milan, Juve and even Napoli—how can you not consider them?" Sneijder also expressed hope that Inter, managed by Chivu, another former teammate, could win the Champions League again this season, noting that the final is being held in Madrid.
