Roma released a strong statement in support of its sporting director: "AS Roma expresses full support to Sporting Director Tony D'Amico in relation to what occurred at the end of the match against Atalanta. The Club considers unacceptable the conduct displayed by Atalanta's Chief Executive, Luca Percassi, towards one of its officials and emphasises the correctness shown by D'Amico, who avoided any reaction. AS Roma will submit the incident to the competent bodies of sporting justice for appropriate evaluation."
The Federal Prosecutor's office is investigating. Stewards and witnesses were heard on 7 September, and D'Amico was scheduled to give his account to the Federal Prosecutor on 8 September. Percassi is expected to provide his version of events in the coming days. Atalanta may elaborate further during a planned press conference during the upcoming break.
