Gasperini takes holiday break in Val Pusteria with Economy Minister and sports academy founder
Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini spent the recent weekend on holiday in Val Pusteria in northern Italy, combining relaxation with solidarity initiatives. He was joined by Giovanni Licini, founder of the Academy of Sport for Solidarity in Bergamo, and Giancarlo Giorgetti, Italy's Minister of Economy and Finance. The three, described as long-standing friends, were welcomed by local officials for an excursion on Monte Specie, followed by a traditional meal at Malga Prato Piazza. Discussions covered politics, sport, and regional development in Alto Adige. On Saturday, June 30, a larger group accompanied them on a new excursion along the trails of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Gasperini is taking a brief holiday before Roma's squad gathering scheduled for July 13 at Trigoria. Despite the break, his focus remains on Roma's transfer priorities, with Greenwood identified as a key target for the upcoming season. The coach's presence at the solidarity-focused event reflects his involvement in community and charitable activities beyond his technical duties. The holiday comes as Roma prepares for the new season under Gasperini's management, with squad preparation set to begin in the coming weeks.
