Rome's municipal council has approved a convention agreement between the Government's Extraordinary Commissioner for Stadiums (Massimo Sessa), the Lazio Region, and Rome Capital regarding the construction of AS Roma's new stadium at Pietralata. The approval is part of the administrative procedures required for EURO 2032 infrastructure development and strengthens institutional coordination among all parties involved in the project. The agreement aims to ensure certainty of timelines and administrative effectiveness in stadium construction. It empowers the Extraordinary Commissioner to convene a Services Conference and initiate unified authorization proceedings in the coming weeks. The Lazio Region and Rome Capital will provide technical support throughout the administrative process. The convention takes effect upon signature and remains valid until 31 December 2032, aligning with EURO 2032 completion requirements. Rome's Urban Planning Assessor Maurizio Veloccia commented: "This deliberation is a further step forward for the realisation of the Pietralata stadium. Yet another demonstration that the Rome administration is working constantly and with conviction on this project. I am certain that the synergistic work between Commissioner Sessa, Rome Capital and the Lazio Region will guarantee the continuation of the administrative process."
